A week shaped by passion and purpose
The HUGO Experience
The HUGO experience is for anyone who enjoys time in nature and good company.
You do not need to be an expert in golf or hunting, and you do not need a hunting license to join. What matters is a shared curiosity for South Africa, its landscapes, and the moments that bring people together.
To join a tour, we require a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 6. If you are fewer, there is always the possibility of being paired with another group, ensuring the experience remains intimate and well-balanced.
Our hunts are part of regulated wildlife management. Each animal taken is selected with care and purpose, ensuring balance in the ecosystem. Nothing goes to waste. All surplus meat from our hunts is donated by HUGO to local schools, supporting the communities that make these experiences possible.
Whether you come with friends for a week of adventure, with family for a shared experience, or on your own to slow down and reconnect, you will be met with the same warmth and genuine hospitality that define everything we do. This is a place where everyone belongs, no matter how you choose to take part.
About
Hunting
Our hunts are regulated and purposeful. Regulated hunting means animals are selected as part of wildlife management plans to keep populations healthy and balanced, and every action follows local law and best practice.
As part of this management, the species typically harvested include zebra, warthog, impala, female wildebeest, female waterbuck, and jackal. All chosen with care to support the long-term balance of the land.
Days are paced around the animals. Mornings start before sunrise when the bush wakes up, and afternoons and evenings offer quieter drives as the light softens. You will spend time tracking and observing as part of a calm, deliberate day in the bush.
You do not need a hunting license to join. Firearms and ammunition are provided and handled by our team, fully compliant with local regulations and safety procedures.
Professional local hunters and trackers lead every outing. They speak English and put safety and reassurance first, so the experience is reliable, respectful, and suitable for newcomers and experienced guests alike.
Every hunt is carried out with care for the animals, the land, and the people involved, and surplus meat is donated to local schools as part of our community commitment.
